Monterosso in the Cinque Terre, Italy



photo of Monterosso, the northern most town of the Cinque Terre (5 towns) on the Ligurian Coast, northwest coast of Italy, the Italian Riviera. Monterosso is known for its beautiful beach.

  4. Sorry, I did'nt read this reply..so I hope I'm not too late.
    There're several possibilities, for the ones who want to make the whole "blue path" number 2 ( the most "commercial") the easiest is to start from Riomaggiore toward Manarola and Corniglia, than Vernazza and Monterosso, these two are the heaviest parts.
    For the High path number 1 (recommended for strong hikers), the easiest is to start from Levanto, in this direction the first up-slope is smooth.
    There're also short hikes such as the Via dell'Amore (Manarola - Riomaggiore 20 minutes) and a short walk around Manarola ( 15-20 minutes) that can, alone, show the beauty of these landscape, in complete relax, without being heavy hikers..
